To Become a Member
If you are a mother in reunion with your child surrendered to adoption or about to embark on the journey of reuniting with your long ago lost child and would like to become a member of First Mothers Reunited, please send an introductory email with a short description of your story to: membership@firstmothers.net including when your child was born, your age at relinquishment, date of reunion if you are already reunited. In an effort to keep our group limited to natural mothers of adoptees only, we screen all potential members, thus you will receive a return email with information on further requirements for membership upon receipt of your inquiry.
All posts exchanged in our group are sent via a private listserver and sent to your private email account. All posts exchanged through our listserver by members are considered PRIVATE and are NOT posted anywhere on the Internet or archived by our server, to ensure the privacy of all of our members. Your posts will be read only by other members of First Mothers Reunited (FMR). Mail volume varies from approximately 25 to 75 posts per day. Therefore, please be certain that you can handle the volume.
We require all members to have anti-virus software on their personal computers and expect that it be updated and run daily. Our server blocks all executable attachments, which are the primary virus carriers. Please include the name of your anti-virus software in your request for membership.
